Looks Its Price but Has All the Basics
I was disappointed that it did not come with a box, instead you get those cheap electronics plastic heat pressed case that you have to cut open. I bought the 1 inch one since I didn’t need the 2 inch one as I have short hair, but it looks as though the 1 inch one will suffice for most people’s straightening needs.
The plastic did not feel cheap, but it was the assembly that made me worried. The entire thing feels like it wasn’t made properly, a little flimsy like those “made in china” products, but that’s just the outside and I know better than to judge a book by its cover. It does come with a swivel cord which is important for hair irons, this is because you will have to move the iron around your head while using it, and of course twist it while curling your hair.
The ceramic that this iron was supposed to have is not the real thing, it’s just a ceramic coating, and trough my years of hair ironing I know well enough that these coatings wear out. But for the price I can’t really complain about it, you could replace the plates or re-coat the iron if you wanted to.
Takes a Bit of Time for Ironing
So after taking a good look at the product I started to feel a little bit worried about using it, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt (a very reasonable one at that). So I turned it on and set it to the max, after a minute I picked it and it wasn’t hot, but reached a good temperature a few seconds right after that. I thought that the iron had issues with heating up, but apparently its due to temperature fluctuations, it does heat up quickly but the temperature drops and rises back causing someone to think that it has not heated up yet.
The iron does tug away a little bit at your hair, but this is only the problem if you go through your hair too fast. It is important to take your time when ironing as to not damage your hair. The temperature control does not really work well but it manages to be useful when you want to limit the temperature, it does drop sometimes and you just have to run it through your hair a couple more times.
Affordable and Does the Job
So this iron is not meant for frequent use, but if you iron your hair not more than a few times a year then this is something you should get. The ceramic coating won’t wear out on you if you don’t overuse it. Getting this cheap one is better than getting an expensive one which you seldom use. And the other extras like swivel cord and light weight make this Andis 1-Inch Ceramic Clamp Flat Iron a bearable and affordable choice.

Having a hair iron is one thing, but having one which is only stuck at a fixed temperature can really be a pain. What everyone needs is a hair iron which has temperature control to ensure that every strand of hair receives an even amount of heat. But the problem with temperature control is that it tends to make hair irons cost more to work well, and cheaper hair irons do not have proper temperature controls.

Expensive?
At about $130 there was some consideration before I bought this iron, I had an old iron which temperature control does not work at all, so after thinking long and hard I decided to get this anyway. The iron looks amazing, a really dark bronze color, very fancy. The iron itself feels very light, and nobody likes a heavy iron that would leave you with sore arms after ironing.
Heats Up Like a Charm
So it’s time to put it to use, and speaking of time, this iron really saves a lot of it. The heat up time only takes a few seconds, about 30 or so, that is quite fast. My old iron usually takes quite some time to heat up, I have to turn it on while I’m drying my hair, but for the Sedu I can turn it on when I’m done drying my hair and use it a little while after that.
It is hard to describe how smooth the iron glides through your hair; it’s like running a piece of silk linen over smooth metal. The iron just goes through every strand and gives it an amazing shine. This shine is only possible thanks to the Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline plates which Sedu are well known for.

These plates are incredibly smooth thanks to Sedu’s special polishing process. This allows the plates to help lock in moisture, and they do it a lot better than regular ceramic, so you can always expect to have luscious and healthy looking hair when you iron with this. Not only that, the ceramic plates are also extra ionic thanks to the tourmaline in them, this reduces static between the plates, and everyone knows that static can cause some nasty looking frizz which could ruin your entire look.
The plates are also embedded, which provide for a perfect alignment of hair, I noticed this when my hair strands did not fold or rolled over each other, they just became amazingly straight.
